HARRISBURG, Pa. -- The New Jersey couple who held the winning ticket for the largest jackpot in the Pennsylvania Lottery's history said they want to use their financial freedom so they can volunteer their time in the community. They also say they won't have to worry about paying for college for their two children.Steven and Kristine White, of Skillman, N.J., bought the only winning ticket to the May 8 Powerball drawing at a Bucks County convenience store.
The Whites selected a one-time payment of just over $110 million, minus 25 percent federal tax withholding. They could have instead chosen an annuity of just over $213 million paid over 29 years.
