WILLOW VALLEY, Pa. -- Ruth Sneider has celebrated 103 birthdays, but that is not keeping her from starting new things.

At age 95, Sneider started painting and she has now painted more than 1,000 works of art, mostly of flowers

"I just get a hold of that brush and start piddling around," Sneider said.

"She has a great sense of color," said Harriet Robbins, Sneider's daughter. "She loved it so much and she's such a natural."

"I've been busy all my life, and it's really boredom that drove me to painting and I guess I improved over the years, or so they tell me," Sneider said.

"It gave her something to do, and she does it very well," Robbins said.

So well, her paintings are now being featured on the Internet.

The Lancaster-based Web site Auction Inn is selling some of Sneider's paintings on eBay. Sneider will donate a portion of the money raised to the Boys and Girls Club of Lancaster.

"I thought that they were young and beginning and had a good future and I thought it would help them financially," Sneider said.
