Vegas Q&A: Who Has The Best Spa
Updated: 3:04 p.m. EDT September 1, 2003 Question: Are there any spa facilities in Las Vegas? Sarah in Port St. Lucie, Fla.
Answer: Las Vegas is packed to the brim with spa facilities, some of them rated among the best in the world. My personal favorites are as follows: Vita di Lago Spa at the Ritz-Carlton -- 24 private treatment rooms offer everything a body could need and much more, a high-tech workout room (each treadmill has its own 51-channel television), an exercise studio, a full-service salon, a meditation garden ... do I need to go on? Canyon Ranch Spa Club at the Venetian -- This branch of the world-famous spa company features over 65,000 square feet of massages, treatments, facials, workout facilities, salons, Jacuzzis, saunas and more. It's a beautiful facility and the staff is dedicated to pampering you, although it doesn't come cheap. Aquae Sulis at the JW Marriott -- The Wall St. Journal named its their favorite spa, and for good reason. With over 40,000 square feet of space, it offers every kind of treatment and body nourishment known to man, including the nation's only hydrotherapy pool. The ritual, a series of dunkings in hot and cold waters, steam, sauna, and more is famous for its restorative properties. After those three standouts, you really shouldn't need much more, but I also highly recommend the spas at the Mirage, Bellagio, the Golden Nugget, the Four Seasons, Luxor, and Caesars Palace. All have different strengths, but each offers more spa fun than you can ever possibly take advantage of. For more information, go to the accommodations section of Vegas4Visitors and follow the links to the hotel Web sites -- each has specifics about their individual spas. Many of these spas are only open to hotel guests and rates vary wildly, so call first. If you have a question you'd like to submit, click here.
