Head-On Collision Sends Three To Hospital

PROVIDENCE TOWNSHIP, Pa. -- A violent head-on crash Thursday morning in southern Lancaster County left three people injured, one critically.
Two pickup trucks collided on Route 222 near Quarryville.State police said it appears the driver of a black pickup truck, Kurt Appler, of Quarryville, crossed into the oncoming lane.
Appler, along with Ryan Wagner and his son, who were in the second pickup, were taken to a hospital.Wagner is in critical condition. His son's condition is not known.Appler, who is a member of the Quarryville Fire Co., is in serious condition."It really throws a lot of emotion into it," Capt. James Welk said.The two pickups were hooked together as a tow truck removed them from the scene.A German shepherd that was in Wagner's pickup was killed in the accident.
